About The Globe Tavern & Restaurant

Located at 701 E Adams St, Springfield, IL 62701, The Globe Tavern & Restaurant operates as a restaurant serving Springfield in Illinois. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 am–2 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (217) 544-8800. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is hilton.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Its Google rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 112 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.

This is a great stop after a long day of travel! We had the buffalo chicken wings and French onion soup - both were excellent! They don't have a printed kids menu but offer a kids burger, chicken tenders, grilled cheese or PB&J. My kids had the burger with fries and chicken tenders with fries. Very good portions for a kids menu! My kids are both meals happily!

While staying in Springfield, Illinois, where Abraham Lincoln built much of his life and career, I had dinner at The Globe Tavern & Restaurant, located inside the President Abraham Lincoln Springfield – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in downtown Springfield. On a Monday night, this isn’t a tourist-heavy spot. The atmosphere felt very much like a working dinner environment, with nearby tables engaged in animated and colorful conversations about what sounded like upcoming Illinois legislative meetings. It gave the whole experience a unique, real-time connection to the state capital just steps away. After a heavier meal earlier in the day, I decided to go lighter and ordered the crabcake bites from the small plates section and made them my dinner. The menu is clearly set up to support that kind of choice, and pairing them with a fresh side salad turned out to be a great call. The salad was crisp, well-prepared, and a solid complement to the meal, with dressing served on the side. The crabcake bites themselves were excellent and worked well as a smaller, satisfying dinner when combined with the salad. This is a practical option if you’re not looking for a full heavy entrΓ©e but still w

Loved all the vegetarian and vegan options here! The servers were so warm and friendly. The space was very comfortable, a great place to linger with friends. This place is a fantastic addition to Springfield!

Knocked 1 star off for poor service by older gentleman who was bartender when kindly asked for food menu’s. Also, another for the very slow service we had to wait for waiter to come to our table(36min) during dinner time on a Tuesday. Buffalo wings were delicious and the mashed potatoes with steak were amazing. It’s unfortunate the service could not match the quality of food!

This is a cool fancy restaurant to go to on a any day. The service was very good and I got 3 free refills on my water. The burger was very good and I asked for a specific way for the burger to be done and they got it spot on. We did not have to wait long to be seated. My only complaint was the portion sizes of the foods being to big but it was a excellent time otherwise. Also I ordered a salad and got the biggest crouton I have ever seen I loved that it was in my salad, i put a picture of it below. Would come again.
